Meet the Team: Cristian

First Name: Cristian

Job Title: Senior Signal Integrity Specialist

Length of time at Fidus: I joined Fidus on contract in January 2004, then joined the team full time in 2005 – so that’s over 16 years total.

What’s your favourite thing about working at Fidus?

I love the exposure to a variety of industries and projects – it gives employees different learning opportunities while at the same time promoting a healthy and caring company culture.

Working collaboratively with a talented team allows me to specialize in my area of expertise (signal integrity), while also develop new industry related skills (hardware and layout design, FGPA design, software, ASIC design).

And I really appreciate Fidus’ caring company culture: allowing for flexible work hours, supplemental health and nutrition programs, and financial benefits geared towards present and future (retirement). That makes a huge difference in the workplace.

What’s an innovative side to you (either technical or not!) that you contribute to the Fidus team?

I always liked math and its application in solving complex everyday problems. I also like the art of photography.

Combining the two whenever possible gives me a uniquely creative approach to problem solving. Thinking like a photographer helps me to get a different perspective on things – an angle maybe less accessible or conventional – while math helps me to understand (or at least to get an idea) of the underlying phenomena at the core of the problem and ways to approach a practical solution.
